Construction has resumed on the £1.8m community centre in Easton, alleviating concerns that the project may be at risk after the main contractor went into administration.
Although the scheme is six weeks behind schedule, Easton Parish Council is optimistic that the centre will be completed by the end of the year.
KMC Civil Engineering Ltd and SIP Build UK are currently working on the groundworks and building shell, with tenders expected to be issued for the remaining work.
The community eagerly awaits the opening of the new centre, which will feature a sports hall, meeting areas, a lending library, and changing rooms and toilets. Sustainability has been a key consideration in the centre’s design, and it will also serve as a 24-hour blue light resilience centre for emergency services.
