SIP Building Systems Ltd (SBS) has successfully completed the multi-million pound acquisition of SIP Build UK (SBUK Group), bringing together three of the UK’s most established Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) businesses.
The acquisition combines SBS, SIPCO and SIP Build UK (SBUK Group) to create a larger operation with more than 50,000ft² of manufacturing facilities, enhanced technical and design capability, increased production capacity and nationwide reach.
The enlarged group is well positioned to support growing demand for high-performance, offsite construction solutions across the residential, commercial, leisure and education sectors, whilst helping the industry meet future housing, sustainability and performance requirements.
Business as Usual for Customers, Suppliers and Project Partners
Customers, suppliers and project partners will continue to work with their existing contacts, while benefiting from the enhanced capability and resources of the wider group.
Day-to-day operations, project delivery and customer relationships remain unchanged. The acquisition strengthens manufacturing capability, technical expertise and production capacity, while maintaining the trusted relationships that customers and partners already rely upon.
Bringing Together Three Established SIP Businesses
Established in 2004, Liverpool-based SBS has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of SIP systems. The business operates across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial and leisure developments, together with military infrastructure, modular buildings and temperature-controlled environments.
The acquisition brings together the complementary strengths of SBS, SIPCO and SIP Build UK (SBUK Group).
SIPCO provides nationwide supply-only SIP solutions, supporting homeowners, self-builders, developers and construction professionals seeking high-performance Structural Insulated Panel systems.
Based in Normanton, West Yorkshire, SIP Build UK (SBUK Group) brings together the specialist brands SIP Build UK, Frame Build UK and Clad Build UK. The Group provides design, engineering, manufacturing and installation services for residential, commercial and leisure projects throughout the UK.
Together, the combined businesses create a powerful end-to-end offering, enabling the Group to design, engineer, manufacture, supply and install high-performance, thermally efficient structural timber buildings at scale.
Supporting Future Demand for High-Performance Construction
With the UK Government targeting the delivery of 1.5 million new homes during the current Parliament, alongside the continued drive towards net zero and the Future Homes Standard, the need for fast, offsite, high-performance construction solutions has never been greater.
As the construction industry continues to face skills shortages and increasing performance requirements, the acquisition provides a stronger platform to meet future demand. Combining increased manufacturing capacity with the proven benefits of SIPs, including speed of construction, thermal performance and the quality control associated with offsite manufacturing, positions the Group for long-term growth.
