Hillside | SIP Self-build Project
Utilising 142mm SIP wall panels and a 172mm SIP panel roof to create a series of vaulted ceilings. The design is an open plan with vaulted ceilings and a floating corner for bi-fold doors.
Hillside is a luxurious eco-house in the beautiful Kent countryside, only 30 miles from London. This spacious and contemporary 5-bed house was designed with sustainability in mind, celebrating a simple yet functional style inspired by a Scandinavian barn.
The location of the house posed certain planning restrictions due to its green belt site and outstanding beauty area designation. Careful consideration was given to the ecology and endangered species surrounding the area. The house’s footprint was limited to 50% of the old bungalow it replaced.
The project features structural insulated panels from SIP Build UK, which helped to deliver the performance, design, and affordability the client desired. The SIPs also maximised the internal living space, and the house boasts a floating corner and vaulted ceilings. Hillside is a perfect place for family and friends to come together in a tranquil space that connects them with nature.
