Harrogate | SIP Police Treatment Centre
The Police Treatment Centre (PTC) in Harrogate is set up to support the wellbeing of the Police Family. During recent years the need for expansion of services was required to meet demand and changes in modern police work.
Work was commissioned to add 2 extensions to the rear of the centre, these new treatment wings were to house an additional; 20 patients, 4 counselling rooms, 1 surgery room, 6 therapy rooms and various new meeting rooms for staff.
The main building of the PTC opened in 1903 in the picturesque setting of Harrogate, this building with it’s historical architectural features required a minimal impact construction whilst remaining in keeping with current designs. The use of SIPs from SBUK ensured that the client exacting criteria were met. This ranged from high thermal performance wall with a long term low running cost to best practice offsite construction, ensuring speed of build on site whilst all potential issues that come from ‘traditional methods’ on site are eradicated.
The extension to the PTC was constructed using SIPs panels from SBUK starting during the COVID-19 lockdown. During this time offsite construction thrived and showed the industry best practice as work continued in a safe technically advanced setting.
The SIPs arrived at site precision cut, ready to install resulting in less trades on site during a period of which social distancing was new to us all. The use of offsite construction not only ensured this build carried on, but also stayed on track.
SBUK offer SIPs panels across the UK with decades of experience. This experience alongside the thermal performance of the panel itself ensured the client received a product and service that is at the forefront of MMC with the highest levels of technical guidance. Design and manufactured offsite ensured all areas and potential problems were highlighted early, resulting in no delays on site.
